External Technician Setup
Select “Groups” from the menu on left
Click “+” button to create a new group
Select External Technician - generally an outside vendor
Choose a name for the group
As a security measure to ensure that your data is only accessed by authorized users, outside vendors will not have their own login credentials to access the application. External technician accounts allow you to have a set of login credentials that you personally manage for the use of vendors outside of your organization. Assign permissions to the external technician account to limit outside vendor access to only the permitted building and inventory types they need at the time.
Choose unique Username for profile rather than email address
Once external user signed in, permissions will be set.
Set user permissions. Best practices are to only provide permissions to buildings and inventory types that are needed to perform their assigned tasks
Select layers and submit. Remember, users have no permissions until provided. Permissions can be given and revoked at any time
Administrator will sign in with newly created Username and password
External Technician / Outside Vendor will either sign in with existing credentials or create a new account
Name, email, and organization name are required for account. There will be no additional password for an external technician, since the approving administrator has already signed in.
